Weekend in the Lake District

This Blog entry is Co-written by both of us for the first time ever!! It's because one of us is a lazy so&so!
Laura's text is in this colour
Grant's text is in this colour

The story behind this photo...
Part of my salary includes a car. When I first started my job my boss made a huge point of telling me the car was deisel. So, we're about to head up to the Lake District for the weekend and decide to take my car, so I fill it up with DEISEL and just as we're on the slip road up to the motorway, it sputters and dies. We then realise, it's not a Deisel. So, I call my boss to find out how to contact the roadside recovery I was told we had and he doesn't know. None of the clinic partners know, so one of them tells us to abandon the car and walk back down the motorway to the roundabout and he'll give us a ride home. So we walk through wild bush getting scratched and cut up by thorns. It was quite the ordeal, but luckily, the car was drained and I had it back by Monday and we still managed to get out to the Lakes in Grant's little Civic.

This is the fireman outfit I donned for Laura on our romantic weekend away. It was a hanger for the door with a fireman's head on it. What its purpose is I don't know, but I sure looked sexy as a fireman.

Time for the pub

This is a very impressive flower napkin folding at a Thai restaurant in Bowness. I thought it made a pretty mean beer coaster too.
MMMMMMMMMMmmmm, bring on the banana spring rolls!
Guess who's sober?
RED RUM
We were acting out 'The Shining' as this hotel was very 'Shining-esc'
In the hotel pub we got caught in the middle of a murder mystery reinactment, and then later found the murder mystery room, I think I found a clue!!!
The best invisible sherry I've ever had

This was taken at the entrance to the South Lakes Wild Animal Park. These signs were everywhere. It means "Don't touch the lemurs." Wish I would have been tempted but it was so cold that they didn't come out to play.
This duck just got the best haircut I've seen on a duck.

This is a baby baboon. Very little and very cute. Will one day be very ugly with a super red ass.
Lazlo the Lion with very sad eyes
