Snowdon

Climbed to the top of the tallest peak in Wales, Mt Snowdon. Amazingly, we picked to do it on a day that reached 20C in March!!

Kung fu kicking at the peak!

The cafe at the top...that wasn't open! Boo!
Beautiful views on the way down.

This is trying to show how my fingers became sausages after the descent. Giant hands return.

MMM...cold shandy!

mmm...cornetto! my favourite!

Northumberland

After Newcastle we drove further north. This is Alnwick Castle, it has something to do with Harry Potter, what I'm not sure. It opens April 1st so we couldn't go in, but it was very nice from the outside.

One of the main reasons for our trip out was to go to Lindisfarne 'Holy' Island. It's a tidal island, so when the tide is low you can drive out to it, but when the tide is high the road is covered with water. So don't get the times wrong or you could be stuck out there!!

The Lindisfarne Gospels is an Illuminated manuscript gospel book produced around the year 700 AD in a monastery , which is now on display in the British Library in London. [I took this from Wikipedia]

This is the Castle.

This is the priory.

Lindisfarne is also famous for mead. We bought some and very much enjoyed it! So much that there are no pictures!
